Commissioned by the Board of Selectmen of Newtown, CT to facilitate, stimulate, coordinate, and cooperate with existing town organizations for the development of the arts community.
Annual Arts Festival
Begun in 2012, the Newtown Arts Festival showcases all forms of creative expression –visual arts, dance, music, the written word, and theater–in the setting of a town-wide celebration on the grounds of Fairfield Hills. This special event is the product of hundreds of people coming together and sharing their artistic expression.
Grants & Scholarships
Annually, the Commission awards scholarships to Newtown graduating seniors who will be majoring in the arts. We also award two grants to Newtown artists, one to an individual artist and one to an organization that shares the arts in Newtown.

Gallery and Showcase
The Arts Commission manages and curates the Newtown Municipal Arts Gallery and the Artisans Showcase. Exhibition is open to individual artists and arts organizations and is not limited to a Newtown affiliation.
