Oil Painting Collages at The Municipal Center
Contemporary artist Neil Bittner (https://bittnerstudios.com/) returns to the Newtown Municipal Gallery on March 1 with 20+ oil painting collages. The show will run through March 31. Managed by the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission, The Gallery is open during regular business hours as well as late when a meeting is scheduled.
Defined as an “artistic composition of materials and objects pasted over a surface,” Mr. Bittner’s oil painting collages create unique images on a variety of subjects. His collages have been described as a “minefield” where the images explode in your mind.
Bittner also works in stained glass, oil painting, oil painting collage, serigraphs and photography. His work is represented internationally in galleries, museums and private collections. His pieces are marked by precision and aesthetics that evoke a powerful emotional connection with the viewer.
“Art is a synthesis of life’s experiences,” Mr. Bittner has said. “If I want to share a moment of reality with others, I must understand what is inside of me first”
