The New England New Music Ensemble (N.E.N.M.E.) is a chamber music group that performs both unique and daring original compositions along with arrangements of songs you wouldn’t normally associate with chamber music.  From The Beatles to Electric Light Orchestra… from Duke Ellington to Steve Reich… from Genesis to Pink Floyd to Tool to Star Wars and even Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies!

From its earliest beginnings in the Medieval period to the present, chamber music has been a reflection of the changes in the technology and the society that produced it. Because of its intimate nature, chamber music has been described as “the music of friends.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe described chamber music as “rational people conversing.”  This conversational paradigm has been a thread woven through the history of chamber music from the end of the 18th century to the present and plays a strong role in the music of The New England New Music Ensemble.
